]]> Digester screw press is used for masticating fruits and squeezing out the crude palm oil. In the case of the mini SSPE, this machine only macerate the fruits and does not release the oil. Pillar press is used to release the oil but in the large and medium SSPE, this machine simultaneously digest the fruits and release the oil as seen in the picture. The oil is collected and manually transferred to the clarifier.

Available capacity include 0.25, 0.5 and
1tonne fresh fruit bunches per hour

Extraction rate of 15%

Adequate for farm size 1-100ha.

Capable of producing crude palm oil qualities of <5% free fatty acids There are two types of the digester screw press:

  1. 8 Hp diesel engine
  2. 5 KW electric motor.

]]> The sterilizer is made up of fruit, water and fire chambers. It is used to sterilize fruits under atmospheric conditions in order to inactivate oil-splitting enzyme (lipase), soften the mesocarp for easy digestion, facilitate the release of oil during digestion stage, coagulate nitrogenous and mucilaginous substances so as to prevent formation of emulsions in crude palm oil during clarification and condition palm nuts for subsequent cracking.

The Sterilizer comes in three categories of 0.5 tonne (Large Sterilizer), 0.25 tonne (Medium Sterilizer) and 0.33 tonne (Mini Sterilizer) capacities.

]]> Clarifier

The Clarifier consists of crude palm oil tank, settling tank, water tank above dryer and the fire compartment. The Clarifier is fed with crude palm oil obtained from the Digester Screw press. Oil is obtained from the clarification system by water displacement. A mixture of water, sludge and other impurities discharged after clarification form the palm oil mill effluent of the SSPE. The Clarifier is of three categories: Large Clarifier, Medium Clarifier and Mini Clarifier handling 12, 4 and 2 tonnes ffb per day respectively.
